Rigid Ribbon, Polyester, 12mm

Thin, stiff and permanently flexible rigid ribbon, ideal for partial stiffening for many sewing projects. The tape consists of several thin polyester strips running lengthwise, which are held in shape by a weave of polyester fibres. It is originally used in women's fashion to shape skirts. However, it is also suitable for many sports and outdoor projects. It can be used wherever a thin ribbon is needed for stiffening or shaping, e.g. on hooded visors or cap visors, for ultralight pack sacks as a rolling aid or on tents to keep the vents open. The tape is very thin, light and does not break easily, making it particularly interesting for ultralight projects. Regular (moderate) bending and folding is no problem for the tape. Since the tape is made entirely of synthetic fibre, it dries quickly or absorbs almost no moisture.

The ribbon can be easily cut and sewn with a domestic sewing machine. Since protruding strip ends can damage sensitive fabrics, we recommend that the ends of the ribbon are well edged. If more stiffening is required, you can use our sheet material made of polyethylene and polyamide. We offer the rigid ribbon in 2 versions with a width of 7 and 12mm.
