TPU

TPU stands for thermoplastic Polyurethane. The material can be repeatedly shaped using heat and retains its elastic properties after cooling. It is often used in the outdoor industry as a coating for fabrics. In principle, it is similar to a PU coating. However, in common parlance, it refers to thick, permanently elastic coatings.

Depending on the layer thickness, the following properties result:

• waterproof
• airtight
• weldable (with high-frequency welding)
• kink-resistant
• abrasion-resistant
• puncture-resistant
