Diamond Ripstop-Nylon 6.6, 40den, TPU-coated one side, heat-sealable, Kisscoating, 90g/sqm

Very lightweight 40 denier diamond ripstop nylon made from high-tenacity nylon 6.6 with excellent tensile strength, tear strength and abrasion resistance. The single-sided, 0.03mm thick TPU coating makes the fabric completely waterproof and airtight, as well as extremely durable - despite its low weight. Thanks to its thermoplastic properties, it can be easily welded using an iron or hot air gun. This allows you to create durable, waterproof, and airtight seams without sewing. What makes this design special is that TPU-coated fabrics normally only adhere coating on coating. The additional kisscoating on the outside of this fabric also allows the TPU coated side to be welded to kiss coating - albeit with slightly reduced weld seam strength compared to TPU on TPU. This opens up significantly more design possibilities. If you do sew, you can use both our seamtape for coated fabrics and strips of the fabric itself for sealing.

TPU coatings offer ideal properties for outdoor equipment: they are completely waterproof and airtight, very robust, and can be easily and permanently welded by ironing. The TPU film used in this product can be bonded at relatively low temperatures, which makes processing much easier. The nylon 6.6 base fabric provides significantly better mechanical properties and lower water absorption than conventional nylon 6. Thanks to the higher temperature resistance of nylon 6.6, warping of the seams during welding is prevented. In addition, the TPU ether film used is hydrolysis-resistant and therefore also ideal for use in permanently damp environments, e.g., airtight pillows or sleeping mats.
