S-Hypalon, 420den Nylon 6.6, TPU-Hypalon, coated both sides, matte, 660g/sqm, small piece
Black matte S-Hypalon, coated on both sides for many applications on outdoor equipment. Ideal for guy points, reinforcement attachments, straps, as waterproof pack sack material or for boats. A thick layer of S-Hypalon is applied to both sides of a 420denier high-tenacity nylon 6.6. Thanks to the strong coating, it is very abrasion resistant, does not fray and can therefore be processed with open edges. The coating has a matte, slightly slip-resistant surface on both sides. It can be sewn, welded or glued. For lighter applications, we offer S-Hypalon with a 210den nylon base fabric at 450g/sqm.
Hypalon has been a versatile reinforcement material on outdoor equipment for many decades. The combination of high abrasion resistance, tear strength, dimensional stability and waterproofness make it the perfect fabric on bags, backpacks, boats or even as accessories on clothing. Because Hypalon does not fray thanks to its strong, compact coating, it can be used with open edges even in high-stress areas such as guy points, tie-downs or as straps.
Original Hypalon, however, has the disadvantage that it can only be produced with a very high use of chemicals - which can still be clearly smelled on the finished product. For our S-Hypalon, we therefore take a different approach: instead of "chlorosulfonated polyethylene", we use a TPU coating optimized for this application on both sides. Nevertheless, the outstanding technical properties of the original are achieved and it has the matte, compact surface typical of Hypalon. Thanks to the use of TPU, in addition to being more environmentally friendly in production, it has the advantages of being both HF-weldable and easy to glue.
The base fabric made of High Tenacity Nylon 6.6 ensures particularly high tear resistance. However, the textile structure is not visible due to the strong coating. TPU ether is used as the coating, so our S-Hypalon is hydrolysis-resistant and can also be used in permanently wet environments.
