4-layer laminate, nylon taffeta with PU-membrane plus coating, 260g/sqm

High-quality 4-layer laminate from Japan. In comparison to 3-layer laminates, which consist of an outer fabric, membrane and lining, a 4-layer laminate has an additional coating on the membrane. The outer fabric consists of a robust 70d nylon taffeta with a PU membrane laminated underneath and a thin, stable 20den nylon taffeta on the inside. The result is a robust fabric with a very high water column of 25,000mm. Despite its robustness, the laminate remains breathable, albeit slightly less than with a 3-layer laminate. The main advantage of a 4-layer laminate is the additional coating, which ensures significantly higher abrasion resistance. As a result, the material is very durable and retains its waterproofness in the long term. It is mainly used for sports where there is a lot of abrasion or frequent folding and creasing. The additional coating also prevents the membrane from becoming clogged with salt, meaning that the fabric can also be used in seawater. The 4-layer laminate is ideal for water sports clothing, such as jackets or drysuits for canoeing, sailing, diving, for workwear or for extra robust rain trousers and jackets.
