Ripstop-Nylon tent fabric, silicone/UTS-coated, 20den, recycled, 50g/sqm

Nylon tent fabrics with silicone coating on both sides, also known as Silynlon, have long been a proven standard in our range. With this product, we are now finally offering ripstop nylon with a silicone coating on the outside and a PU-like UTS-coating (Ultra Tear Strength) on the inside. The key feature here is the UTS coating used: conventional PU coatings reduce the tear resistance that is essential for tent fabrics, which is why we have not previously offered such a material as an outer tent material. However, the UTS coating solves this problem because it actually increases tear resistance. The UTS coating has all the advantages of a PU coating in terms of application and processing: reliably waterproof with a minimum water column of 2000mm, less slippery than silicone, easy to seal, and easy to repair.

This combination means that this very lightweight tent fabric combines the best of both worlds. The silicone coating on the outside makes the fabric very UV-resistant, tear-resistant, and durable. The UTS coating further increases tear strength and tear resistance. Seams can be easily sealed on the UTS coating with our seam tape for coated fabrics or with SeamGip + WP. This makes the fabric ideal for use as a flysheet or lightweight tent floor, for tents, tarps, ponchos, (non-breathable) UL rainwear, or for ultra-lightweight stuff sacks and bags.

The base fabric is recycled and the material is completely PFAS-free.
