lavalan® Sport, wool-insulation, 120g/sqm
lavalan® Sport wool insulation is a highly functional, sustainable and washable insulation made of 100% natural fibre, perfect for many applications from outdoor and sports to fashionable everyday garment. For lavalan®, fine European virgin wool is combined with corn maize based Ingeo-PLA to create a puffed, durable insulation. The outstanding properties of wool are retained: lavalan® has a thermoregulatory effect due to the high wool content and provides pleasant, cosy warmth regardless of the level of activity or temperature changes. In the case of excessive heat, it develops a cooling effect and prevents overheating. Wool is also able to absorb water vapour and thus can store it temporarily. As a result, a more pleasant climate is achieved even during sweat-inducing activities compared to insulation made of 100% synthetic fibre.
lavalan® Sport 120: lavalan® by the meter is available in various weights and thicknesses from 40g/sqm to 250g/sqm. This medium-weight version with 120g/sqm is suitable for moderate activities in cold temperatures such as winter walks and hikes or activities with varying intensity of movement such as alpine skiing. The insulating effect and breathability always depends on the outer fabric and lining.

Processing
lavalan® is supplied by the metre without a carrier film. lavalan® can be cut to size and processed like conventional insulation or as a voluminous fleece. It must be enclosed between 2 layers of fabric. By combining it with various face fabrics and linings, the end product can be optimised for a wide range of applications. The fabrics should be down-proof, but some only fibre-proof fabrics can also be sufficiently tight. In case of doubt, this should be tested in advance with a small, filled pillow with the upper fabric.

Sustainability
lavalan® consists of 100% renewable raw materials and is therefore biodegradable. The wool comes only from European sheep and the origin of the wool can be traced thanks to UniqueTrace. Of course the wool is mulesing-free, just like any other product in our range. CO2 emissions can be minimized due to the short transport distances. The final production of the insulation takes place in Germany. The manufacturer follows a zero-waste policy (production leftovers are recycled or upcycled) and pays attention to a resource-saving production.
Care instruction:
Wool cleans itself and prevents the development of odours. Extensive airing is therefore often sufficient. lavalan® can be washed at up to 40°C. For machine washing, we recommend using the wool program at 30°C and using only wool detergent. Please also follow the care instructions for the outer fabrics.
