Softshell, Softshell without Membrane by the meter
Softshells without membrane are typically composed of two layers - a robust outer material and a soft, transporting moisture wicking, slightly warming inside. But here, no membrane has been applied between these two layers.
Therefore, it offers less weather protection, but of course has other advantages: It is extremely breathable, elastic and flexible, quick-drying, almost rustle-free and has a small pack size. As a result of a dense weave of the outer fabric, it is usually highly wind resistant. The slightly rough, fleecy inside provides lightweight insulation and a comfortable fit. Classic applications for this type softshell are mountaineering- and skiing pants or jackets for spring and autumn or for very active winter days.
