Braids for Edge Binding, Elastic Braids for Edge Binding by the meter
For many elastic, technical fabrics, the edges should be fixated to prevent fraying. This can either be done by an extra seam or the seams can be edged with a special braid that folds very well. Elastic edging tapes can also be used to shirr fabrics or nets, regardless of whether they are elastic or inelastic. This is e.g. practical on backpack side pockets to give them more volume or as a classical application as finishing touch to sleeves and hoods. For edges on very light fabrics such as windbreakers or for ultralight 2.5-layer laminates, the super-fine to medium elastic braids are suitable. The other braids are significantly more universal and can be used for a wide range of fabrics. Edging braids for inelastic fabrics can be found in the category of inelastic braids for edge binding.
