Tapes
When sewing, small perforations occur at the seam. In order to still obtain a watertight result with waterproof fabrics, the seam can be subsequently sealed with a seamtape. The tapes have a thermoplastic adhesive film on one side. When exposed to heat, this melts and by applying additional pressure, the adhesive seals the seam and the tape bonds to the fabric over its entire surface. The tapes work with membrane fabrics, EtaProof and coated fabrics (except silicone coatings!). For fabrics with a stretch content, there is a special elastic Seamtape. And there is also a special seamtape for neoprene, the Melco Tape. With a seamtape you get a very clean and professional result. You can find instructions for sealing seams with seamtape in the know-how pages.
