Seam Sealers
When sewing windproof and waterproof fabrics, small holes appear at the seams through which water and wind can penetrate. If you want a really tight seam, it has to be sealed. There are different methods for this. On the one hand, the seams can be brushed with a liquid glue, which then dries to a flexible, waterproof film. Or you can use a tape which is ironed onto the seam. With the tape you get a very professional looking result. In both cases adhesive runs into the perforated seams and seals them. Different methods are suitable depending on the material and intended use. Tapes are usually used for functional clothing, and liquid glue is also often used for tents and tarps.
