YKK DynaPel® 5C, one-way, non-separatable, 30cm color: black

With DynaPel®, YKK offers a modern alternative to traditional water-repellent AquaGuard® zippers. Instead of a polyurethane coating, the yarn is treated with a water-repellent finish that prevents water from penetrating the tape. The technology used is PFAS-free and offers impressive resistance to abrasion and repeated wash cycles. Reapplying a water-repellent treatment to the zipper is not necessary, even after prolonged use. However, as with AquaGuard®, water can penetrate to a limited extent through the gap between the two zipper halves.

Because there is no coating, the zipper tape remains pleasantly soft and flexible with a textile look and is easy to work with, even on curved surfaces or curved seams.

Another advantage: The zipper is made of 100% recycled polyester. Since there is no polyurethane coating, the product consists of a single material, which can simplify recycling.

This YKK® DynaPel® zipper is a non-separable spiral zipper, size 5C, with a fixed metal-slider on one side featuring an oval grip and an automatic brake. The tape length is 30cm. The zipper has a reverse construction, meaning the spiral is on the inside and the smooth side is on the outside. Thanks to its finish, the zipper is highly water-repellent. This largely eliminates the need for cover strips, reduces sewing effort, and saves weight. Suitable for jacket pockets, short underarm vents, light bags and backpacks etc.
