Ripstop

In a ripstop fabric, a stronger thread is woven into the fabric at regular intervals in the weft or warp. This allows lightweight, tear-resistant fabrics to be produced. Any tears that occur are initially stopped by the stronger threads incorporated into the fabric. The box structure is typical of ripstop fabrics.
