Heartbeat 50L backpack
Inspired by the 2400 Southwest Pack of HMG replicated "Heartbeat 50" from X-Pac VX03
Inspired by the 2400 Southwest Pack from HMG, I built my ‘Heartbeat 50’. This waterproof, ultralight backpack has no frame, so it weighs just 640 grams and has a capacity of about 50 liters. To give the backpack stability on the trail, the sleeping pad is rolled up and placed inside to reinforce it. The rucksack is closed by taping the opening together and then rolling it up.
The main compartment is made of X-Pac VX03 (140g/sqm) with a black exterior and white interior. The white colour makes it much easier to find small items in the backpack. The three outer pockets are made of elasticated stretch nylon (70g/sqm). The seams are sealed from the inside with seam tape. The hip and shoulder straps are made of 3D mesh fabric with a thickness of 6mm. For the top of the shoulder straps, I used a 3D mesh with 3mm thickness. MOLLE straps are sewn onto the hip belt so that additional pouches can be attached. A buckle is integrated at the top of each shoulder strap to attach a sternum pouch. The Heartbeat 50 is therefore part of a variable carrying system.
