Fanny Pack / Bar Bag
Stylish fanny bag aka handlebar bag with X-Pac and UltraGrid™
Hi everyone,
Your gallery of sewing projects is really great and has often motivated me to tackle my own projects. I usually buy everything I need for sewing from you. That's why I thought I'd share something with you.
I have now sewn several handlebar bag/belt bag models, with only slight variations. First for myself, then for family and also for friends. I really wanted a stylish handmade bag, exactly the size I need, for everyday use and for cycling.
A belt bag that I sewed myself, which can be converted into a handlebar bag for a bicycle in just a few simple steps. Practical, robust and a real eye-catcher – in ‘lilac’ and ‘black out’.
It works for bikepacking, road bikes, mountain bikes and basically any other bike with handlebars – thanks to the sturdy 3-point attachment, it sits securely and without wobbling.
Details about the bag:
- Dimensions: width approx. 20 cm, height approx. 11 cm, depth 5 cm
- Material: X-Pac VX21 + UltraGrid™ 210den + Ripstop nylon
- Closure: YKK zip
- Carrying options:
- As a belt bag or bum bag
- Or as a handlebar bag
- Or as a handlebar bag with 3-point attachment (stable & wobble-free)
- Interior: Lined with ultra-lightweight and abrasion-resistant ripstop nylon, colour-contrasting
- Water-repellent – but not 100% waterproof (the seams are not sealed)
I am not a professional, but sew as a hobby with a lot of passion. Small irregularities are part of the process and make each bag unique.
Since I also do small video projects with a friend from time to time for fun, we documented the entire process with a camera: Here is the link to YouTube.
Best regards from
