Tyvek

Tyvek is a very versatile material for MYOG, sewing and craft projects due to its unique structure. Tyvek is a so-called non-woven and consists of pressed polyethylene fibers. Through the producing process it can get a variety of properties and structures. So, Tyvek is divided into softstructured Tyvek and hardstructured Tyvek. Softstructure Tyvek has a soft, more textile touch and a slightly textured surface, while hardstructure Tyvek has a firm, paper-like touch with a smooth surface. Both styles are very tear resistant, are easy to cut, to fold, glue and sew and can also painted or printed. Tyvek can be used for a wide range of applications such as tent footprint, pad, bivy sack, kite constructions, for craft projects such as lampshades or bags, wallets or even for stylish clothing.
