The wide-mesh mosquito nets have a mesh density of about 40-90 mesh per square centimeter and reliably keep out flies, mosquitoes and other larger insects. According to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) they are suitable for the tropics, ie the mesh size is sufficient to stop insects of the tropical climate zone.

Thanks to this open mesh, air can circulate well through the net even in hot nights or regions. However, when traveling in high-risk areas, it's a good idea to check on a case-by-case basis which insects you need to protect yourself from and may choose a finer mesh.
