Lining Fabric, Tafetta Lining by the meter

Taffeta linings are very thin, smooth and relatively tightly woven linings. They are suitable for sewing rainwear, especially with coated fabrics or 2-layer laminates. On the one hand the lining protects the coating or membrane against abrasion, on the other hand it prevents it from sticking to the skin. The smooth surface of a taffeta lining also helps to reduce friction with other, rougher clothing layers, such as fleece. It increases the wearing comfort and makes it easier to get on and off. A bit more special here is the downproof lining. It is perfect for working with down or synthetic insulations. But it is also best suited as a windproof lining, which can be used to add more function to not so dense fabrics such as fleece, knit and wool fabrics.
