Dyneema® Sewing thread, Size 40, 500m

Sewing thread made of 100% Dyneema® in strength 40. Dyneema® is an extremely tear-resistant, strong fibre made of UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) that is up to 15 times as strong as steel. In addition to its high tear strength, it is characterized by 0% water absorption, low elongation, high resistance to acids and chemical liquids and very high UV resistance. A disadvantage is the sensitivity to high temperatures. Dyneema® yarn has a very smooth surface. Perfect for srong seams on safety-equipment, webbing or as "emergency yarn" for on the go. Dyneema® sewing thread is not absolutely necessary to achieve strong seams for fabrics made of or with Dyneema® - a high quality yarn made of polyester or nylon is usually sufficient. The slippery surface and the low stretch can make processing difficult.
