For reflective cords, an abrasion-resistant, reflective thread is woven in addition to the base fabric. As a result, the cord is easy to see in the dark and any incident light is effectively reflected.

This increases visibility and safety in the dark. But still, the soft, textile feel is retained and the cord is easy to knot and also to untie again. Reflective cord is perfect for use as guy line on a tent, as it is very visible in the light of a flashlight and does not become a tripping hazard.
