Inelastic cords, ropes and laces with 3mm diameter are true all-rounders, as they are a very good combination of durability and handling. The cords run well through drawstrings, they have a good grip and are easy to knot - and the knots are easy to solve again! Again, different materials and styles of weaving are used to optimize them for different applications. Polyamide-cords are particularly resistant to abrasion and are more flexible, polyester-cords absorb very little moisture and are extremely UV-stable. Cords using Dyneema fibers are particularly tear-resistant and have low-stretch. Due to the use of different cover weavings and core materials, the structure, touch and flexibility of a cord is affected.
