T-bars, T-bars for Braids
Through the elongated openings of the T-bar for straps you can loop an elastic or non-elastic, flat ribbon or strap and thus fasten the bar in any position to a fabric. A flat ribbon is easier to sew than a cord.
So, the T-bar can be used much like a button. You can run it through a buttonhole and again simply unthread it. Or, which is the special advantage, lead it through a fixed ring made of plastic or metal and thus create a flexible connection that can be easily released again. This connection is often and gladly used in tents where the inner tent is hooked into the outer tent.
