Besides the classic hand scissors, there are a number of alternative, practical cutting devices. The rotary cutter definitely competes with the scissors in terms of simplicity and speed.

Here, a rotating blade does the cutting work. The advantage: the fabric can remain on the base and several layers of fabric can be cut precisely and with a clean cutting edge at the same time. There are 3 different sizes of rotary cutter. The smaller ones are particularly suitable for tight curves and more delicate cutting patterns. Replacement blades are available for all models of the Prym/Olfa rotary cutter and are very easy to replace. To be able to work with a rotary cutter, you need a cut-resistant underlay.
