First I was disappointed that the jacket is not 100% waterproof. After a few tours, even in real crappy weather, the advantages show: From the outside you do not stay 100% dry in continuous rain - but the breathability is so good that this disadvantage is outweighed. In addition, there is a wonderfully soft feel and a decidedly high elasticity. Perfect for sweaty tours in any weather. Since the material is so thin you can see the inside ironed tapes also outside. Personally, this does not bother me, but for other projects may be disturbing. In that case, you should rather resort to a liquid seam sealer.
The jacket is sewn from a cut taken from a retired Northland 3-layer jacket. After a few years of use, it leaks and is already quite worn on some corners. It was too short from the start, which is fixed in the new jacket. Since you can't lay out many parts of the jacket flat, I used a few folding tricks and an incredibly handy transparent PE film for it, which made copying the pattern pieces possible. The jacket therefore fits like it was made for me!
