Storage bags resp. stuffsacks are wonderfully versatile in their use as in their production: made out of leftover from other projects or as easy-to-sew projects for sewing beginners, for organising odds and ends and clothing, for compressing sleeping bags or even as a small gift. The possibilities of suitable materials and constructions are almost immeasurable. After many, many little bags in the most diverse constructions, this variant has meanwhile become my favourite: as fabric, our silicone-coated,30den diamond Ripstop Cordura®, which we have in our range in wonderfully strong colours (and black, of course). For the edges, the French seam or double seam is suitable, so that the edges are serged at the same time. The drawstring is hemmed with a rolled hem - but before closing it, the 4mm eyelet must be inserted (with this thin fabric, be sure to back it with a small piece of fabric!). Before sewing the hem, the 1.5mm polyester cord must then be inserted, which is then fitted with the longish mini-tanka and closed with a small clam. Of course, a knot will also do here.
And some more words to the fabric selection: The silicone-coated, 30den-Diamond Ripstop Cordura® is coated with silicone on both sides, but still has slightly different sides. On one side the ripstop pattern is slightly more pronounced, which looks better on the outside (technically it doesn't matter which side is on the outside though). By the way, compared to our other silicone-coated ripstop nylon tent fabrics (ripstop nylon tent fabric, silicone-coated, 20den, 36g/sqm and ripstop nylon tent fabric, silicone-coated, 40den, 55g/sqm), Diamond Ripstop Cordura® is much more suitable for small-scale applications with punctual loads, like this bag. Due to its low stretch, it has significantly higher seam stability. Designated Silnylon tent fabrics prevent punctual loads in constructions with large areas (such as tents or tarps) due to their higher stretchability. And due to the weave, they are significantly more tear-resistant. However, the punctual seam loading suffers from this.

For me, this is the perfect combo for a lightweight, durable storage bag: silicone-coated 30den Diamond Ripstop Cordura®, 1.5mm cord, eyelet, mini-tanka and pinkie. Versatile in use and easy to make.
