Thanks to the great fabrics it not only looks stable but also seems to be. My goal was to sew a lightweight trekking backpack for a 2 week trekking tour through Scotland.
This seems to have succeeded.
The volume is about 43-48 liters, plus the side pockets and a large front pocket with zipper, which add up to a few more liters. The weight is only 800 gr. My goal was about 700 gr. but 800 is still OK.
It should hold the things for my wife such as a change of clothes, rain jacket and pants, hygiene items, thin foam sleeping mat as mechanical protection of the inflatable NeoAir mat, down sleeping bag, as well as a Tyvek pad, water about 2-3 liters, food for 4-5 days. As accommodation we have decided on a Tarp, this goes in my backpack as well as the cooking equipment. The thin foam insulating mat comes as a roll in the backpack and thus serves as stabilization and back padding. The roll is opened in the backpack so that it fits snugly against the outer shell of the backpack. The above mentioned parts then go into the roll.
For a long time I am more than happy with this solution. My Golite Pinnacle carries itself thereby very pleasantly. The thin foam insulating mat comes as a roll in the backpack and thus serves as stabilization and back padding. The roll is opened in the backpack so that it fits snugly against the outer shell of the backpack. The above mentioned parts then go into the roll.
I have been more than happy with this solution for a long time. It makes my Golite Pinnacle very comfortable to wear. This has the further advantage that the sleeping mat does not have to hang around on the outside of the backpack and thus always proves to be a mechanical brake in narrow passages.
Here is a link to the photo album on my Facebook page. There I have also made comments on the individual pictures about the development steps and backpack parts. There are also some pictures where the dimensions of the backpack parts are shown with a tape measure, as well as some hand sketches that I drew myself as a "pattern".

I do not want to hide it, I was inspired by the Golite Pinnacle backpack, which I use myself and am very happy with it.
